Gettorf Animal Park

Freshly from the zoo in Dortmund a young female Meerkat moved to Gettorf today. The female will soon enjoy the company of two young men from the zoo Linz, who will move to Gettorf next week.

Since in the meerkats, the females wear the breeches, it is important that the female comes first, and can find her way and acclimatise a bit. So there won’t be unneccessary problems with the hierarchy at the arrival of the men.

The female has immediately accepted the exhibit as their new home. Curious as she is, she explores the new environment, tests the vantage points and sunbathing spots and is already completely unafraid of our visitors.
